Can you compare the Soldering Stations Quick TS1100 and the Classic JBC?

Written by Carlos Saca and Carlos Saca Jr.

The direct answer is NO. And they are simply not comparable because they use different types of technology. The Quick uses tip technology, which makes it slower to heat and therefore slower to start soldering. In other words, it takes a few important seconds to get from 0 degrees Celsius to 350 degrees. On the other hand, the JBC uses cartridge technology, which allows the heat to be generated at the tip itself and to go from 0 degrees to 350 degrees in very little time.

In addition, the thickness of the tips is not the same. For example, the Quick Machine has tips that are 0.4 millimeters thick at the tip and the JBC works with cartridges up to 0.1 millimeters; this makes it ideal for working on the smallest spots on the most difficult boards.

Finally, the price of both is something to highlight, because although the JBC station more or less triples the price of the Quick, it is not such a high price to pay by the average pocket.

Of course, maintaining the purchase of JBC cartridges is something quite expensive, since each one can cost you up to 40 euros, but if you take good care of them, they do not have to last a short time; rather, because of the energy-saving technology used by the JBC, they tend to last a long time in good condition.

In conclusion, we do not encourage you to buy one or the other, but if you have doubts, look for the opportunity to try out a soldering station before buying it because if you do not think about it before buying them, you may have it in your workshop unused for a long time.
